2) Dialogue Practice
It's Camille's first day at work. Mr. Smith welcomes her to the company.
A: Camille! Welcome aboard! How are you? Did you get here all right?
B: Yes, great, thank you! I'm just really excited and can't wait to meet everyone.
A: Well, I'm glad to hear that. But first, let me show you around and to your office.
B: I have an office?
A: Of course you do! You are the Project Manager. Okay, here we are.
B: So, this is my space. I like it!
A: Yes, this will be your home away from home. So, feel free to organize this space in any way you want.
B: Great, thank you! I think I'm going to enjoy working here.
A: You will have six people working under you. After lunch, I will introduce you to your subordinates and to everyone you will work closely with.
B: That sounds good. Where do you usually have lunch?
A: There's a cafeteria on the second floor. The food is quite good there. But you can also bring your own food and eat in the dining area.
B: That's good to know.
A: Now, here's your schedule. We have a regular meeting every Tuesday. The other four meetings in your schedule are the monthly meetings with the managers. Other than that, you are free to organize your time and your tasks in any way you like, as long as you are efficient and bring good results.
B: I'm quite good at time management, so that shouldn't be an issue.
A: That's great to hear. Okay, I'll leave you alone now, so you can settle in. Please feel free to ask me if you need anything. You know where to find me.
B: Thank you, sir! And thank you for taking the time to show me everything, I appreciate it!
