2) Dialogue Practice
Alicia is siiting on a bench front of the convention center where a conference has been held. Alex approaches her if he could take a seat.
A: Hi, do you mind if I sit here?
B: No, not at all. Go ahead.
A: Ah, you are also attending the conference, am I right? I think I saw you there.
B: Yes, that's right.
A: I'm Alex. It's nice to meet you.
B: Nice to meet you, too, Alex. I'm Alicia.
A: So, what do you think of the conference? How did you like the keynotes speaker?
B: Well... His presentation was quiet interesting, but I think it was a bit long.
A: I agree. You can tell he is really knowledgeable about the topic, but he talked too much.
B: Absolutely. It's possible to stay focus for that long.
A: That's true.
B: But overall, I really like the conference, so far. There was a lot of innovative ideas presented today. And I think tomorrow will be event better.
A: Yes, from what I've seen in the conference program, there should be some interesting discussion tomorrow. Let's just hope they will not last as long as today.
B: I sure hope so! Oh. I really just be going. It's already 6 pm!
A: Yes, I guess I should be going as well. Anyway, it was nice to meeting you.
B: Yeah, it was good talking to you! And see you tomorrow, then!
A: See you! Enjoy the rest of the day!
B: You too!
3) Role Play
Situation
You are at a presentation about a company’s latest product. You want to take a seat next to a stranger, so you ask for permission. You start introducing yourselves. Your teacher will act as the stranger.
