Dùng để hỏi người khác hoặc tự hỏi mình về một vấn đề nào đó. Câu hỏi bắt đầu bằng một từ để hỏi hoặc một trợ động từ.
1. Câu hỏi Yes/No (Yes/No questions)
a) To be questions:
- cấu trúc: To be + S + ... ?
- trả lời: Yes, S + to be hoặc No, S + to be + not. Hoặc trả lời đầy đủ thông tin + ....
- Hiện tại: am - is - are: Is Mike a student --> Yes, he is.
- Quá khứ: was - were - were. Were you sick yesterday --> No, we weren't.
b) Trợ động từ (Auxiliary verbs)

- Hiện tại đơn: do - does - do
- Hiện tại hoàn thành: Have - has - have
- Quá khứ: did - did - did
- Quá khứ hoàn thành: had - had - had
- Tương lai: will - will - will
+) Cấu trúc
- Hiện tại đơn: do - does - do + S + V + ... ? Do you fell well?
- Hiện tại hoàn thành: Have - has - have + S + P2 ... ? Have you bought a car?
- Quá khứ: did - did - did + S + V + ...? Did she do homework yesterday?
- Quá khứ hoàn thành: had - had - had + S + P2... ? Had they come Saigon 10 p.m yesterday ?
- Tương lai: will - will - will + S + V .. ? Will I sleep all of morning?
2. Câu hỏi có từ để hỏi (WH-Questions)
bắt đầu bằng các từ như: what, where, when, who, whose, why, whom, how, ...
a) Cấu trúc:
- WH + to be + ... ? Who is tallest?
- WH + to be + S + ... ? Where is supermarket?
- WH + V + ... ? Who bought the house?
- WH + trợ động từ + S + V + ...? What will she buy?
b) Các WH-question:
